NOAA predicts there is an approximately 95% chance that El Niño will continue through the Northern Hemisphere winter 2015-16. What’s that mean for Jackson Hole? Lots of deep powder conditions for 2016 likely. After last winters lower than average snowfall, we should be back in the flow once again.
Since 1974, High Mountain Heli-Skiing (HMH) has been offering its guests the ultimate deep powder helicopter skiing experience in Jackson Hole. We use the newest model AS-350B3e A-Star helicopters to access our terrain. Our 305,000-acre terrain consists of ranges south of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, including all of the Snake River and Palisades Mountain Ranges, and portions of the Hoback, Teton and the Gros Ventre Mountain Ranges. Vast open bowls, steep chutes, enchanted forests and glades can all be yours to explore.
A day of heli-skiing consists of six runs, approximately 12,000-15,000 vertical feet, transportation to the heli-pad, and lunch at the Heli-Deli. Extra runs are available at an additional cost when time and conditions will allow. Rental powder skis (the new Rossignol Super 7) are recommended and available in our shop.
We fly in groups of five, one guide and four guests (weight restrictions apply). Three groups (12 guests) is the maximum amount for our daily operations.
We maintain two bases for our daily operations. Our main base is 13 miles south of Jackson at Snake River Sporting Club. We’re also located on the west side of the mountains in the Teton Springs Lodge and Spa near Victor, Idaho. All heli-ski trips will meet daily at 9:00am and you will be advised as to which location when you check in on the day prior to your scheduled trip. For our guests in Teton Village without transportation, there will be one pick-up each morning at 8:30am. Please let our office know if you will need a pickup in Teton Village.
Information in Teton Village can also be obtained at all hotel concierge and ski shops. If you are coming to Jackson Hole to ski, stop by and see us or just give us a call at (307)733-3274. We would be happy to answer any questions or just let you know how good it was that day.
We operate on the Bridger-Teton and Caribou-Targhee National Forests under a permit from the National Forest Service. HMH is also a member of the Heli-Ski US Association.
